Fifteen years is a long time in business. In the Northern Territory, where conditions test everything from supply chains to staffing, lasting that long says something about the people behind the counter and the community that keeps walking through the doors.

Where it started
Fetch began in 2011 as Berrimah Post News Tatts. It was a small newsagent and post office with a limited product range and a tight space. But the community was already there, coming in every day for their mail, their papers, and their lottery tickets.
That early version of the business planted the seed for everything that followed. The team saw what customers actually needed and started stocking it. Office supplies appeared on the shelves. Then furniture. Then a gifting range. Each addition was a response to what Darwin businesses and residents were asking for.

Growing through change
Over the years, the business outgrew its original home. Walk-in locals became regular accounts, and those accounts multiplied. Today, over 600 Darwin businesses rely on Fetch for their day-to-day office needs. A product range that once stopped at newspapers now covers everything from printer cartridges and copy paper to ergonomic chairs and standing desks.
The journey was not always smooth. A temporary relocation to Berrimah Business Park for nine months tested the team’s patience and resilience, we only survived because of our loyal customers who kept coming in. Moving to the current Stuart Highway store marked a turning point. For the first time, Fetch had the space to stock the full range its customers needed, all under one roof.
Today, the store at 3/655 Stuart Highway houses office supplies, furniture, a curated gift range, and a full Australia Post counter. Customers walk in for a parcel and leave with stationery for the office and a birthday gift for the weekend.

Why local matters
Running an office supply business in Darwin is different from running one in Sydney or Melbourne. Stock takes longer to arrive. The wet season tests logistics. And when something runs out at 3pm on a Wednesday, there is no next-day delivery from a warehouse in the southern states.
That is exactly why local matters. Fetch keeps its shelves stocked because the team knows what Darwin offices go through. If we don’t already have it, we can source it for you. They know which products move fastest, which brands hold up in Territory conditions, and which items businesses cannot afford to run out of.
Being local also means being accessible. The team at Fetch knows its regulars by name. Business customers call the store directly when they need advice on a purchase. That kind of relationship does not exist with an online catalogue.

Fetch Rewards: giving back to the community
One of the things the team is most proud of is Fetch Rewards. The loyalty programme was built to give something back to the people who choose to shop local.
Every eligible purchase earns Fetch Rewards points, from greeting cards and gifts at 5 points per dollar to office supplies and technology at 3 points per dollar. Thank you, Darwin
Fifteen years is not something the team takes for granted. Every business that opens an account, every office manager who calls for a quote, every local who picks up their mail on the way home from work: that is why Fetch is still here.
The next chapter is already underway. The team continues to expand the range, invest in better tools for business customers, and find new ways to support the Darwin community.
If you have been shopping with Fetch for years or you have never visited, the door is always open. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm, at 3/655 Stuart Highway, Berrimah.
Here is to the next 15.
